MSP Patrick Harvie visits Recyke-a-bike!

Scottish Greens MSP Patrick Harvie gave Recyke-a-bike a visit on Friday 25th March. In true Active Travel style Patrick arrived at Recyke-a-bike via bicycle and left on a bicycle too - which was fantastic for us to see and a true measure of Patrick's commitment to Active Travel and sustainability (causes close to our heart too!).

Our Operations Manager and Development Manager toured Patrick around the building, introducing him to our staff as well as showing him our well-stocked shop, extensive workshop space and projects, such as the Forth Bikes that we look after.

A large part of the visit was to discuss the Free Bikes for Kids pilot that we are helping to deliver, alongside Forth Environment Link, Active Clacks and Barnardo's. It was a brilliant opportunity for us to share our findings from what we've delivered so far, as well as an opportunity to discuss any challenges we've faced along the way. We've loved being part of the pilot, and really hope to see it rolled out Nationwide before too long.

Patrick was genuinely interested in our little charity and it was so lovely to be able to host him here. We look forward to hosting him for another visit, when we can share more exciting future projects we have planned with him...watch this space!
